William J. Ferlita, Jr.
Bill is a Tax Partner for the Tampa Bay Practice of Cherry, Bekaert & Holland, L.L.P. He specializes in the construction industry, and he has over 33 years experience in the field of public accounting. He practices in both the audit and tax areas within the Firm. He advises a diverse client base in the areas of accounting, tax and business consulting.
Bill is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate and Construction Industry Group. Bill has authored articles and presented seminars in the areas of tax, accounting and consulting to the construction industry. He is currently a member of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), as well as a past ABC Board Member and Treasurer.
Bill graduated from Loyola University of New Orleans with a degree in business administration and major in accounting in 1976. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has also served at various levels in church and civic organizations in the community over the years.
David Shick
David B. Shick is the president and principal shareholder of The ProSure Group, Inc., a surety-only bond agency and brokerage group with offices in Tampa, Florida. The ProSure Group, Inc. is the largest independently-owned and operated surety-only agency in West Central Florida. As a surety bond specialist, the company represents over 25 surety bond insurers which represent over 90% of the Florida surety marketplace. Its highly-trained team of professionals extends over a half billion dollars of surety credit every year to the construction, real estate, financial, automotive and legal industries.
David graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Finance with a Minor in Marketing. He also holds an Associate in Arts Degree in Architecture from St. Petersburg College.
He holds Property and Casualty insurance licenses in Florida and 30 other states.
David’s broad spectrum of business, surety and management experiences serves him and his clients well. From starting and running his own companies to having extensive experience in the surety industry, David’s first-hand experiences has been invaluable to his clients in assisting them in developing and maintaining their bond programs.
Additionally, he has developed and taught surety bond classes for the Small Business Development Center and The U.S. Small Business Administration and has held numerous seminars on “Surety Bonding for the Construction Industry.”
David is an active member of The Florida Surety Association, Associated Builders and Contractors, Contractors Financial Management Association (CFMA) and The Carrollwood Area Bar Association,
David has lived in Tampa since 1978, graduated from H.B. Plant High School and now enjoys life with his wife and their two daughters. He’s very active and enjoys coaching fast-pitch softball for his daughter’s competitive traveling softball team and is a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association….given the chance he also enjoys boating, fishing and playing golf.
Ron Likar
Ron graduated from Purdue University where he completed his study in the fields of Business and Finance and also competed in football on a full athletic scholarship. Ron started his career in the wholesale foods industry associated with Coca-Cola and Draft Foods.
He grew up in a family owned business in Pennsylvania and later served in several sales, marketing and management positions which led him to the financial services field. Ron specializes in the following areas; business planning, retirement strategies and overall helping business owners meet their financial goals. He has been a keynote speaker at seminars in the Tampa area for nearly ten years. He is married, wife Kathy and has three children, Curtis, Lindsay and Tyler. Ron is an active member of the Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce where he serves on the Small Business Development Committee.
Steve D. Marlowe
Stephen D. Marlowe has been practicing law for 30 years. A Florida native, he was born in Jacksonville in 1948 and is a graduate of the University of Florida (B.A., 1970; J.D., 1973). Prior to forming the firm he enjoyed an eleven year association with Carlton Fields, where he was a member of its Construction Law Department. He was also a partner in Moffitt, Hart & Miller, practicing construction, corporate, and commercial law and a member of the legal staff of Jim Walter Corporation serving as Senior Litigation Counsel.
He is a member of the Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Forum Committee on the Construction Industry, the Arbitration Panel for the U. S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the Commercial Panel of Arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association. He is admitted to practice in all Florida State courts and in the U. S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
He has served as Director and Legislative Chairman for Associated Builders and Contractors and has lectured at seminars sponsored by the American Arbitration Association, the National Business Institute and the Contractors Institute among others and has authored continuing education course materials for lawyers and contractors.
